New Year's Eve 2015

On the last day of our Seoul weekend getaway, we waited nearly 30 mins for the shuttle bus to the airport, and in the freezing sub-zero temperatures, my poor mom got a cold. Unfortunately, she had to spend the whole week resting and recovering, and didn't get to do any sight-seeing at all.

New Year's Eve fell on a Thursday, so I went out with friends for a few drinks.

The Language Cast crew rendezvous-ed at the new location for weekly meetings, a board game cafe called Scoop in Seomyeon, with rumored celebrity sightings. I didn't see anyone famous though. After casual introductions over coffees and board games, we all went on over to Prix, where everyone else joined us.

Prix was this rather ugly, grey, concrete looking bar that managed to be both huge and dingy at the same time. It was like sitting in a parking lot with smelly toilets and overpriced drinks. But the crowd was good.

Presenting, my squad:
Hoda looking smoking hot.

Rimando looking dashing.

Agnes looking professional.

Alex looking stylin'.

Agnes looking adorable.

Michael looking suave.

I haven't had to do the mean girl ditch in years, but thankfully I had Rose with me. We had to use Artbox and Zara as detours, but it finally worked. It's not thorough though; kakao seems to be lagging and still trying. Tomorrow, without Deb, I ain't going to LC.

We managed to salvage the night with steak and pasta dinner with wine though.

Grilled steak

Spaghetti carbonara.

We went to a really nice bar afterwards for more wine. It was a beautiful space softly lit by
candles and lights that looked like golden baubles, with jazz renditions of great classics playing in the background.

And after sufficient alcohol consumption, we went to Seomyeon to go on the Disco Pang Pang. It's inside an arcade, and is like a spinning, bouncing amusement park ride. With no seat belts. The ride is manually controlled by a guy who stops random people under the spotlight to ask them questions and make the atmosphere more fun.

We went to Groove afterwards to join the rest of the crew. Amidst all the dancing, beer pong, and foosball, I believed we managed to count down together. Most of the group wanted to stay up all night and watch the first sunrise of the year. I just wanted to take out my contacts and fall into bed. So I taxi-ed home.

Happy New Year!
