Grade 6's Last Day

I will graduate on Friday, Feb.17th, 2017.

I feel: (circle the words you feel)

Happy       Sad       Nervous       Hopeful       Excited       Ready

I will miss ________________________________________.

I will go to _________________________________ Middle School.

I went to Suan Elementary School for _____ years.

I think that being a __________ or a ____________ would be cool.

_________________________________________________________________________________

I will finish my contract on Feb.25th, 2017.

I feel:

Happy       Sad       Hopeful       Ready

I will miss all the wonderful people I've met here, from Korea and from around the world. It really was the best 2 years of my life.

I will go back my city, Vancouver.

I went to Suan Elementary School for 2 years.

I think that being a teacher means that you are a leader, role model, mentor, friend, disciplinarian, and parent all rolled into one. I think that seeing where my students end up in 10 years would be cool.

I have students who aspire to be dentists, architects, stock-brokers, and pro-gamers. They want to be teachers, eco-designers, music teachers, and cooks. Some kids aspire to become doctors, crime scene investigators, baristas, and bartenders. I have some girls who would like to become baby-sitters, fashion designers, You-tubers, and even mothers. Some 6th-graders set their career goals sky high, aiming to become pediatricians surgeons. Some have romantic dreams of becoming bakers, actresses, and stewardesses. To be honest, I almost forgot that some of these jobs exist, until my students said what they would like to become.

Best of luck, guys. <3

AYCE at Kappa Sushi in Seomyeon

Sudden sushi cravings leading to dinner at aforementioned restaurant, 8:30 PM escape room reservation at Game of Minds, then impromptu 노래방 session.

  • spilling mayo and soy sauce leading to matching stains on pants "Hey, we match!"
  • "Stella's eating her fatty tuna. Let's all watch her".
  • Best thing: spam sushi and premiums
  • "Everything here is actually pretty shitty"
  • stealing cider and ginger from other people, hoping they won't notice
  • cannibal-themed escape room: passcode on x-rays, money stuffed in rubber glove for claw machine, #5427 to open cage, #213 to open body refrigerator to get key to reach freedom
  • "Put some soul into your rap"
  • "We sound like whales"
  • "That's not synchronization, it's harmonization".
  • "Saldaga, saldaga, saldaga, blah blah blah"
Let's do it all over again this Friday night at Spaland.

Tokyo Girls

The best part about the trip was how organized it was. We got to almost all the destinations, and only scrapped the last day because most of us were running low on funds. We barely got lost, and did activities that were well-varied and well-researched. I'm pretty proud of my itinerary , but we also had Julez as official map-reader and Joyce as official translator.

For anyone thinking of a week-long trip to Tokyo and staying in the busy hub of things, this was my itinerary. The times were personalized to our own schedule.

The cookie game was done for my own amusement, and photo opportunities.

A bit of a cooking fail, but that's okay. They enjoyed the "cooking" process nonetheless.

And that wraps up my last English camp ever. I will miss spending time with these kids, even though it was a lot of prep work for me. Stay awesome.
