So I've been thinking.... If I do stay another year, it would be nice to have the option of reusing successful and fun activities, games, and projects with students next year. It would be pretty pathetic if I forgot/deleted everything, and had to start from scratch. Therefore, I should create a visual graphic organizer of the good activities this week.
Monday, Grade 5's
We played Family Feud for Lesson 11: My Favorite Subject is Science.
I really love this game; I play it all the time on my phone anyways. All the kids get super competitive (in a good way), everyone wants to speak and participate, and they're focused and having fun until the very end. This format of the game only had 7 questions, but it's enough to keep the class both engaged and entertained for at least 25 minutes including instruction time.
Love it, love it, love it, definitely one my top 5 activities for grades 5-6.
Grade 4, Thursday
We played the grab the card game today with Lesson 11: I'm Making Bubbles. Students got in groups of 4, with 2 sets of these cards laid out face up in the middle.
They would ask me What are you doing? to which I would answer with I'm _____________, and they would grab the right card.
Simple, low-tech, fun listening activity
Takes about 7-8 mins instruction and prep time, each round takes about 3-4 mins.
Didn't get to see my Grade 6's much this week, as they went to the Busan Global Village on both Tuesday and Wednesday. Would have been nice to see them around, but not complaining since I had no grade 6 classes on Wednesday broadcast. Sweeeetttttt.
Tomorrow, we're going to be watching a short clip about Fly Guy and his cat while filling in this worksheet about past tense verbs. It's the first time of Lesson 11: Who Drew This Picture?, so I'm not sure what to expect.
Plans for this weekend:
-household chores and study Korean
-hang out with friends and distract self
-deck out apartment with minimal Christmas decorations
