Grade 6 Lessons 1-3 Review: Categories Game

It's rare for me to create a lesson that leaves my co-teacher completely satisfied, but Monday was a great day for my sixth-graders.

There were three teams, and each team's captain got to choose their player for the next round. We went in rotation of category questions. For categories Words, Guess Who, Where, and Signs, the students had to hit the bell to answer. For category Don't Stop, I hit the buzzer in 5 seconds if they can't come up with an answer on the spot.

My 6-1 class, which is usually my most apathetic class, was alert, bright-eyed, and attentive. They listened well, and understood immediately. My other two classes were animated as usual, though a bit too boisterous.

I thought the class felt organized yet relaxed, and it kept me in high spirits for the rest of the week.
