An Odd, Empty Sort of Weekend With Good Moments In Between the Stale Ones

I had high hopes for Saturday.

I couldn't make lunch, on account of trying to catch up on much needed sleep.

So we met at the movie, Rose and I late of course, trying to speed walk with bubble teas.

"Yo, you're late, where are you guys?"
"Look up, we're walking right towards you!"
"What.... no, you're not."
"Yea we are! We see you! You look so tall! You look so handsome!"

Blatant lies of course, but honestly, who shows up at the movies early to wait for the previews?

Zootopia was amazing. We sat in the best seats in the middle row, saw Olin and Jade on a date in the row in front of us, and waved like lunatics.

I was laughing because of the movie, but I was also laughing at Rose's cackling beside me.

At one point, I was laughing in tears because I couldn't hear the movie at all; only the sound of Rose's guffaws echoed in my ears.

Then Saturday for some reason, went downhill. It just stopped being fun around dinnertime, when we were all picking at our overpriced plates of honey glazed chicken and Mongolian beef at PF Chang's, and the other end of the table couldn't stop talking about porn, and our side of the table was sitting in awkward silence. Ever since H, L, and C left, it felt like the dynamics of the group changed. Less fun and less funny. It doesn't help that M keeps calling me H by accident either.

Yesterday, I did a day of volunteering at BEXCO helping interviewees with the speaking portion of their working visa applications to Canada. I assessed their speaking ability while trying to give them practical tips living and working in Vancouver, Toronto, or Calgary.

I was at BEXCO from 1-6, but I skipped having dinner with everyone else. I went back to Dongnae to have Chinese food and then Baskin Robbins with Nikki.

The different feeling in the dynamics in our squad is a little troubling, but maybe it's just a matter of adjusting.
