Grade 3 Telepathy Writing Game for Lesson 1

My third-graders see me once a week on Thursdays, and last time we met we did a telepathy writing game to wrap up lesson 1. My students' English abilities vary so much that some students are being exposed to the English alphabet for the first time whilst some students are reading stories by themselves in afternoon English classes and are able to hold decent conversations with me.

My co-teacher didn't want any students to feel left behind. Not only did I have limited vocabulary to work with; I also had limited alphabet letters. She wouldn't let me use anything after the letter "F" in the slides, because the textbook didn't cover it yet.

Three of the four choices would disappear, and the longer the answer you chose stays up, the more points you get.

The students didn't have any trouble copying the short words on their blackboards.

I think that we could have used even more vocabulary, but it's safer to err on the side of too easy than too difficult.

They loved it, and were super lively and ecstatic. I only wish that my sixth-graders were more like them. Those kids on the other hand won't even participate in a game unless they could get stamps.
